Melges 32 Gold Cup Day 2 Report

Kip Meadow's RoXanne is the new leader after two more races on Day 2 of the Melges 32 Gold Cup. Ramrod was granted redress for race 1 of the day after a collision with Dark 'N Stormy. Johnny Lovell's Rougarou slid to third place overall and John Taylor's Ninkasi is in fourth. Jason's Carroll and his team on Argo moved into fifth. Racing was called for the day after two races as the breeze was shifty and a tornado warning was in effect.

November Already?!?!?

Can it really be November already?? What a busy year this has been and how the time has flown by! We are gearing up for the next several weeks which include heading the the Melges 24 Atlantic Coast Championships this coming weekend, Thanksgiving with our families in Culver, several meetings in Atlanta and then the Melges 32 Gold Cup or Etchells Jaguar Cup. We haven't decided which event we'll be at yet, but either way, we'll be updating from SailingUpdates.com. We'll also be in Key West again this year. Let us know if you need help with housing, team chefs, lunches, crew gear or anything else.

Check out out our photo galleries from all of the past events this year here.

Melges 24 Worlds Day 3 Report

Yesterday brought more light air racing to the teams at the Melges 24 Worlds in Annapolis. JoeFly ITA 777 won the first race of the day and moved into first overall in the standings. The Norwegian team on NOR 804 Full Medal Jacket had a great day with a fifth in the first race of the day and a strong win in the second one.

Overall, JoeFly has a one point lead on Chris Larson's West Marine/New England Ropes and the Norwegians are in third place. Bill Hardesty's Event Clothing/Atlantis is in fourth and ITA 787 Gullisara is in fifth. Full results are posted here

Today's racing looks to be similar to yesterday with overcast skies, temps in the mid-50's and the possibility of showers. The breeze is currently 5-6 knots out of the east at 090. Hopefully the RC is able to get off three races today. We'll be updating from the water at www.sailingupdates.com all day and photos are posted from the previous days at www.sail22photography.com. We'd love to hear feedback from our followers to know where we can make improvements on the updates.
